Hi, y’all. My name is Tamra (Tami) Hargett and I am a cosmetologist based in Bemidji, MN. Learning to do hair professionally was always a huge dream of mine, but opening my own salon seem too far-fetched for a simple girl like me. I am now 30 years old and am starting construction on my very own private salon at home.

I started doing hair at a very young age. I was born with a full head of black hair that eventually turned blonde and now I am rocking my natural brown hair (believe me I was curious why). My dad also liked long hair so I had to learn how to brush and take care of hair that was down to my waist. Then I had the wonderful opportunity to practice my styling skills on the bus to volleyball games, for banquets at my church, and the occasional wedding. It became clear that I needed to change my career from teaching to cosmetologist when my elementary students became the most stylish class in the school-due to my styling in the mornings before class.

Construction began in March and was completed by the middle of August. You can visit our “About Us” page to see the pictures and videos showing how a simple sunroom was transformed into Transformations Salon. I have my official State license and will begin taking clients by the end of the month.
